i’m always okay with sam in AOS fic because of that deleted scene in STXI with jim’s brother (of course, they also call him “johnny,” but like that mississippi nonsense, i am willfully ignoring it).
This is mostly why I don’t mind that much. Plus, it means we get brother bonding in a fic! And I want to say too that I’ve read that it was supposed to be his brother and then for some reason they decided that didn’t work, so they filmed the “hey Johnny” stuff later. And they also changed the whole stepfather/uncle thing around too, like the whole family background there is just a mess tbh.
